I am so glad someone blogged this. I love your insights. Although Obama-Biden is not my dream ticket, it’s way better than McPain. True, they do not support gay marriage; what else could they say after 2004? However, Biden did say, “In an Obama-Biden administration, there will be absolutely no distinction from a constitutional standpoint or a legal standpoint between a same-sex and a heterosexual couple.” Not great, but something in a game where semantics are everything. I hope you vote.
By the way, despite his vote for DOMA in 1996, his recent record is far better. Biden voted NO on a constitutional ban of gay marriage in 2006, and he voted YES to adding sexual orientation to the definition of hate crimes 2001 and 2002). Yeah I don’t care about the “marriage” aspect of it, it is a religious definition- I just think it’s bullshit to take a back seat stand on- and I know it’s to win as many votes as possible, but this is th 21st century. Plus, if the damn conservatives could look past the “I think that’s wrong” aspect, they could see how supporting gay marriage has soooooo much economical potential- not to be mean, though I AM bi, but imagine the very flamboyant and excessive gays who would want to go ALL OUT on their wedding- can we say splurge? No one knows how to splurge worse than a girl from Manhattan or a gay man with taste, seriously. I mean, most republicans are supposedly raging capitalists, why do they have to be selective? bah…
the energy thing is what hit home most for me- I watched Obama come to YSU and say to the entire rally crowd that he wanted to go away from coal and nuclear and establish wind/solar power at a substantial rate- and then that ass says what he did on national TV- i just feel betrayed, and obviously lied to…I’m still going to vote, because the world will be a scary place with that woman even a states distance from the White House…I look at it like this: she was born in Alaska because some type of higher power wanted her as far away from the Capitol as possible…it’s just too bad they didn’t put her ass in Hawaii…or maybe Russia? Yeah, that would have been better…leave her for the old Soviets…lol
